With history and culture enticing visitors from near and far to explore each and every corner of Paphos, times past are now the focus of attention, albeit with a cool modern twist in an old town that has been brilliantly revamped. And with the renovated Hani of Ibrahim (Ibrahim’s Khan) standing proud at the centre of it all, with contemporary architectural features accentuating the old brickwork, we give you three great reasons to check it out.

You’ll get a feel for a place where traders and pedlars once gathered in the heart of the city years ago! A meeting point for decades in the first part of the twentieth century, people from around the island once congregated here when travelling from district to district. It was, however, abandoned in the 1960s and the premises were transformed into workshops.

Reviving memories of times past, the Hani focuses on the revival of old crafts and local produce, with a woodcarving workshop, mosaics workshop and painting workshop! There’s also a spot to get hold of exceptionally pure carob syrup, while jewellery lovers will go mad over the creations sold at the little jewellery shop.

At the entrance of the Hani, you’ll spot an impressive multi-coloured crochet installation made by Peace2Peace, while there is more art work to spot on the inside’ albeit rather strange, as massive insects crawl up one of the interior walls!
